    Ford windstar trouble
I have a 2000 windstar with a few concerns. My back brake light gets stuck and stays on after I shut off the engine and have to play with the brake to unstuck the lights. Sometimes when I try locking the door the lock just pops back up when I close the door. And I noticed yesterday the emergency brake light would come on when I take my foot off the brake to axcelerate (not ) Do you think anything is related. Do you thick that any of those things need to be looked at? The engine is always on, we have that checked many times but there isn't anything wrong. The only problem about that if there is any a time that the light goes for a reason we would never know.
    Thanks in advance'

Spray WD-40 on the brake light switch mechanism. Take a flashlight and look under the dash and you will see it connected to the brake pedal. Likewise, spray WD-40 in your door and trunk locks. Attach the wand for these applications.

One of the keys to getting your money's worth out of your vehicle is to take care of the engine and transmisssion. If you are not using synthetic engine oil (e.g. Mobil 1) in your Windstar's engine, you should consider it. The same goes for using a full-synthetic automatic transmission fluid (e.g. Mobil 1 Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF). Change synthetic engine oil and filter every 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever comes first. Change synthetic ATF and filter about every 40,000 miles. Automatic transmissions are very problematic these days, if you don't use the best lubricants and change the filter regularly. They are more involved than engines. Passing this information on from experience and hope it helps.

I would suggest adjusting the brake light switch under the brake pedal!
