A bump on my nose piercing, scared
Ive had my nose piercing since late December. Rencently there had been a bump that formed on one side of it. I think it's a blister but I'm not sure.It sometimes bleeds also. I called my piercer, he said it is just a scar tissue called a keloid. He instucted me to buy a bottle of distilled water, soak a cotton ball in the warm water & a tablespoon of sea salt. So far I've seen a slight change but it looks as if that just dries out my piercing. What else should I do and is it a keloid or what? (I hope not) :( [/I]

I had the same problem when I got my nose pierced a few years ago. Just clean it twice a day with rubbing alcohol and it'll go away within a week or so.

I've had my nose pierce for about 2 months and my bump showed up... I can't really see the picture but my bump was really red and visibly noticeable. This is what worked for me and hopefully it will for u too...
MAKE SURE TO WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE PIERCING and Don't OVER CLEAN IT!
-i get a small cup and fill it with hot tap water, and add the sea salt (shouldnt be saltier than tears)
I dip the side of the nose with the bump in the cup for about 5 min.
-repeat the process for another 5 min but using a paper towel instead. I suggest using the 100% tea tree oil with it. So you're nose wouldn't dry up. You can also leave flakes of sea salt on it to drain any puss or blood. I leave it on for 1-2 min. (optional)
( I do that about twice- three times a day--when I wake up and before I sleep)
-and then at night I crush up an aspirin until it becomes a paste and put it on the infected area overnight.. (aspirin decreases the swelling)
I've only done it for 2 days now and its size has gone down tremendously and its no longer as red and visible.
I hope this works for u =)

Here is some info on keloids.
Keloid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Having said that, only a doctor can tell you for sure what it is and it's always best to go with a treatment set up by your doctor. There are so many home remedies out there that end up making matters worse.
See your doctor about this. That's really your only option.

Can someone tell me if this bump around my nose pierce looks 'normal'? The piercing is almost a month old and this bump has only gotten a little smaller in the last week. I had another one earlier in the piercing that was smaller and shrank a bit, but didn't go away completely.

I will admit I have been messing with my nose piercing, especially when the little out lined circle started forming around it. Based on what I've read it isn't a keloid, but is the same bump that everyone else is talking about. My question is, is it going to go away ? And how often should I use...

Hi, I have had my nose done for about 1 month and a couple weeks. I had to take out my nose ring for numerous reasons including gym class, work, and cheerleading. It was probably a stupid idea to get it done in the first place, but whatever. Anyway, I kept taking it in and out for a while and no...
