There are a number of ways you can do this. You can buy used and pay a lot less. Look at your yellow pages for a small computer store and they can help. You can save your money and get a new one. If you can't save then it will probably be hard for you. There are companies that help people but you will pay a lot more for the computer.

Go to Tronix country. I was worried about them at first because I had just sent in my form accepting their terms. I'm glad to say I did receive my computer with no problems. As in anything financed the purchase price is going to be higher than if you had the money to just purchase the product right away. When I originally called the company to order the computer I was offered "FREE" products. Software, MP3 player, Digital Camera LCD TV & DVD w/remote. I didn't really look at these additional products as "FREE". I considered the final purchase price for the computer included payments for these "FREE" products which made the price a great savings package. If I were to purchase the "FREE" products and the computer I would have spent much more - so I am a very very satisfied customer. If you have the money to purchase a computer then you would not need Tronix Country's Layaway plan. I've found that anything financed costs more that a "cash purchase". When I received my computer it was everything and more than I had expected. I also did some research and found that rent-to-own companies would have me on contract for 18 months instead of the 12 months through Tronix Country so it goes without saying that I would have paid much more on the rent-to-own plan. I had to wait the 2 months to get the computer but it was explained to me that this was to insure the company that I was a reliable customer. So I have my computer and I'm still making payments - only 6 more months to go! Very Satisified! Thank you Tronix Country. San Bernardino, CA USA

Have you checked about fixing yours

    Buying a used one ?

And of course, if you want to pay three times what they are worth, you have the rent to own stores

Nickie, you sound like a commercial. Do you work for those people?

Anyone who is willing to rent to, or make a loan to, someone with bad credit, is someone who is going to charge you an arm and a leg due to the risk.

Checking into fixing yours is a good idea. 99% of the time when someone tells me their "computer" is broken, what is really wrong is that there's something going on with the software (virus or Windows corrupted, etc), and they maybe just need to reinstall some things. The rest of the time, it likely can be one bad part which can be replaced, maybe for fairly cheap. On occasion, someone's "computer" really is busted.

It's made up of parts and one busted one doesn't mean it's all busted. And you need to distinguish between the hardware and issues with the software. A "computer" being busted doesn't even have any specific meaning.
