In New York city what is the minimal distance between electric outlets

Have not seen code about minium distance between outlets.

If one existed, u would not be able to put 2(two) outlets in 1900 box.

Do you really mean minimum? Or did you mean maximum?

For a very generic and vague answer it is a maximum of 12'.

Seems the question was worded incorrectly, as I assume the question is either:

What is the minimum amount of receptacles,

Or

What is the maximum distance between receptacles.

This is addressed in the NEC:
"Section 210.52 (A) 1- Spacing- Receptacles shall be installed such that no point measured horizontally along the floor line in any wall space is no more than six feet from a receptacle outlet."

In simple terms, this means the maximum distance is 12 feet between receptacles.

Got to be careful in NYC, as they seem to be currently using the 2005 NEC, and amend it: Department of Buildings

So, receptacles cannot be further away than 12 feet, they can be closer, which would provide for more than the minimu amount of outlets.

To comply with Code, and save money, no more than 12 feet is allowed.

For an installation that exceeds Code and offers a better installation an convenience, install them closer than 12 feet.

12 feet is the maximum allowed by the National Electrical Code. The NEC also specifies 24 inches minimum distance along countertops, and has some other requirements as to where you need to install receptacles.

This is the NATIONAL Electrical code. New York City may have local amendments and codes. You need to check with the local electrical/building inspector, or get a copy of the local electrical code.
