Thermostat for gas fireplace and fan
Hello. I have a gas fireplace in the living room of my condo. The problem is that the thermostat controls the fireplace but not the fan. So when the fireplace comes on with out the fan, it gets really hot and worries me that it will start a fire. I would like to be able to have the fireplace turn on in unison with the fan. Are there any thermostats out there that will swtich the fan too? I would imagine that the fan is 110v, or would it be 24v? I guess the I need to get my meter and chack what the voltages are, but was wondering if anyone else knew anything of this problem.

    Thanks

Actually there should be no problem if the unit is installed correctly. On most units the fan is automatic or manual depending upon the setting selected. A switch for the fan could always be installed in the lower compartment of the fireplace for manual activation.

Ok, the fan is already manually switched on the wall, next to the thermostat. What I want to know is can I get a thermostat that will turn the fire and the fan on at the same time. Are the fan and the ignitor different voltages?

The ignitor is probably millivolt so you cannot hook them together. Look at the wiring diagram for your no name no model number fireplace and see what the voltages are.
