General electric g 149-0 washer hot cold switch wiring
I just need to know which terminals the wires plug into on the hot cold switch on my GE washer. They are not marked anywhere as to which color goes where. I've tried experimenting & flipping the switch either way which works to allow water into the tub. But it drains out as fast as it goes in. There's no drain hose on the washer (washer is outside on my porch-hose was cut off next to where it goes on by previous owner) and water pours out as fast as I put it in. Is this hose necessary for tub to fill up. I know inside the house hose comesup almost to top of washer before going into drain line which would theoretically allow it to fill at least to apogee of hose before draining but isn't there a pump for this? It's my first house and first washer. As far as the hot cold switch, it was unplugged too when I got the thing due to a part needing glued on plastic switch where fill hose pluggs in. Fixed that, just don't know if I'm hooking wires up right.
    Thanks in advance.

The hose out the back should be higher than your lid.
If you have a meter, set to cold water and look for voltage and connect to cold solenoid, remaining 2 should be for hot.
If solenoid coils are open, they won't operate valve.

Thanks that answers everything. I believe it or not hooked it up right the first time. It was the water draining out as fast as it went in that bothered me the most and thought it had something to do with the wiring. I'll have to get a drain hose somewhere before I can try again but at least I know it works. Again, thanks.
