So I've been searching through other posts and haven't seen anyone else ask about this movie.

I can't remember much of the plot except for one very specific scene:

It takes place in a land made mostly of clouds. There is this floating head, I think it's green, and people go down this slide into the heads mouth. After some weird noises the head belches up the person but they have transformed into a mystical being. The one I remember is a person goes into the head and comes out as a butterfly type creature.

Sounds like a Michael Jackson video I know... :)

I have some other memories of this movie but they aren't very clear. I think there was a big furry character, like Chewbacca. And the main character is a boy.

Anyway, I have searched everywhere for this movie: IMDb, RetroJunk, fast-rewind, got nothing.

Any help would be incredibly appreciated!

The one with the fury character isn't the never ending story is it? Could you describe a little more?

And the floating head... sounds a little like 'Mio in the land of faraway'?

Nope it's neither of those, I've seen Neverending Story many times. And I recently found a copy of Mio in the Land of Faraway to rent. Not that either.

The floating head has no hair or anything. And it swallows people, then spits them out as fairies.

Is this it? I only ask because all the reviews on IMDB mention a chewbacca character, but no mention of a giant head

That movie isn't it. But it did look very cool, I watched the trailer.

The movie is live action.

Nope not yet...

This is a search that has taken me almost 3 years.

I hope someone on here can tell me.

I'm currently going through the IMDb's listings under fantasy genre.
There's thousands and thousands but I'm only checking movies from the 70's and 80's
Long process though.
Plus I have work and school.

Someday...
