    J1 Trainee Visa
Dear representative, I'm an Italian woman who's going to move to New York within a month. I will work for an Italo-American firm, based in New York since 2003, under a J1 Trainee visa (for 12 months) issued by AIPT. My husband (Italian) will join me with a J2 Visa. I have been offered a salary of 48000 $ / year (gross). I'd like to know how much taxes (and which kind of taxes) I will have to pay... and basically how much money (net) I will actually earn!
Also, my husband will join me a month later, and will probably search for a job, but later on: can I have some $$ returns, as I will have to support also my husband there? Also, I will have to pay a rent for my own apartment in NY. Do I have to pay taxes on that? (I have an apartment on my name in Italy).

Thank you very much for your help.
