    Can't get printer to share
    I seem to be having trouble . My printer or O/S XP pro will not allow me to set my printer brother to share when I hit the share this printer it tells me it can not apply settings I have tried everything I can think of I do have z/a and have applied all ips from both lap top and master comp the lap has no prob accessing the master just can't find printer because I can't get my printer to share? Hope this makes sense.

    Maybe you're not an admin user. Do you have the admin username and password for the machine (PC)?

    Wow would have thought that with all the people on this form someone would have an answer for me about my printer problem guess this must have stumped you people and to answer tpeters it's a personal computer I am the admin as well as the only user of this machine

    First, not all printers are networkable. Second, what I've found works is installing the printer as a local printer on the remote PC. When it prompts you to select a port, don't use LPT1, but rather create a TCP/IP port using the IP address of the machine the printer is connected to. After that is done, you will need to install the drivers for that printer on the remote PC.
