    Period not happening
    Hi I have ben on the pill for eleven years I had a break about four years ago for six months.I went off the pill in may and still have not had my period.My partner and I have been having unprotected sex as we are trying to fall pregnant.I have had some brown discharge last month which lasted a few hours and I have had it again this month but same thing again,what could be happening and when can I expect my period to return

    Since you have been on the pill for so long it could take up to a year for your periods to return to normal. It could also take you up to that long to become pregnant.

    However, you should see your doctor to make sure that everything is okay. Your health is nothing to take lightly, and I am sure you know that. While it is good to get some advice on the internet, we cannot do a physical and a total history the way your doctor can. We can only guess at best, so please make a doctor's appointment.
