Dog pooping in his cage
My dog was going in his crate for 2 weeks, every time I put him in there. It didn't matter if he was in there for 30 minutes or overnight, he would freak out and piss and poop his cage. We tried all the above suggestions with no help but what finally worked was watching where in the room he naturally went to and felt comftorable with. We then moved his cage to this area and made sure that we stayed in the room with him part of that day and for the next few nights to make sure he didn't start freaking out again. He has not peed or pooped in there since. Also, we started feeding him in there with the door open so he could choose to come and go as he pleased. He became used to walking in there on his own and will now choose to go in there at times. Hope this can help someone! |

If you want to move his crate, you'll need to move his scent as well. Deodorize the carpet completely, including deep into the padding. By now he has marked the places he does go, so you shouldn't have any repetitions. |
