    Rotten egg odor from vents
Live in a trailer, not gas leak, not sewer backed up, but there is when heat or air on a foul like rotten egg smell, very annoying and frustrating, nothing works, almost affixiate myself with sprays and perfume.

Could it be a pipe leaking into one of the vents or the cold return not working
    Totally in the dark.

Let's start by checking the AC condensate drain. If it drains into a plumbing vent or drain you have found the cause of your smell. Let me know, n Tom

    Hello Speedball.
Any advice you have would be great. I have the same intermittent rotten egg odor from my vents when A/C is on. Just had some guys out today that cleaned the coils, but half an hour later, it's back. I'm not sure if what they did would help with AC condensate drain. To quote the invoice: Chemically cleaned out both evap coil and condenser operation normal at time. Unable to pinpoint smell but believe coil cleaning and advised customer to close up drywall where return air is.

When you talk about vents do you mean AC vents or plumbing vents? I'll ask you the same question I asked Lorena.

Sound like it's worth checking out?
    Cheers, Tom

Rotten egg smell [ 3 Answers ]

I have well water with a rotten egg smell, from what I am told it could be the anode rod in the hot water heater. I don't have a hot water heater, we have a hot water boiler that is used to heat the house and the potable water, also is the water dangerous due to the smell.
