    Have a 30 year old lennox heat pumps not defrosting
    Heat pump is 30 year old . We have had very cold weather in Georgia the last 2 weeks. The outside unit freeze up allmost all the time . It 58 degrees today check high side in cooling mode, read 65 on r22. If it the defrost unit how do you check it. Thank you

    Could be a defective defrost control in the outside unit. Get an electric meter and trace down the problem OR at 30 years of age it might be time to consider replacement.
