    L1 & L2 W4 Form Filing 2010
    Hi

I got transferred during the month of July 2009 from India Office to US Office on Long Term Transfer. Later on my wife & son joined with me in November 2009 in L2. My wife is not working. Now I want to submit W 4 form. Advice me how to fill the form, what all I can claim as an exemption.

    Thanks!

    Raghav:

Under special rules from the IRS, on the Form W-4 you can claim SINGLE with ONE allowance or MARRIED with TWO allowances. Those are your only choices, because the IRS wants to make sure enough taxes are withheld from your taxes to cover your tax liabilities.

There are no restrictions for the state-equivalent form to the W-4.
