I have rec'd a citation. I am being sued by arrow Financial for two thousand dollars.
Actually they are sueing my wife for a credit card debt. My wife never signed for this card. I did. Original creditor is GE Money. The debt couldn't be over four to five hundred dollars. They are asking 2870.00 plus 25% attorney fees and some interest fees that makes this thing look closer to 3500.00 in asking. I remember paying some payments to the other party(other than GE Money... ie' Sutherland I believe.

Where are you located? You need to verify when the very last payment was made on this account; payment and/or use of the account renews the statute of limitations, which varies by state.

Arrow Financial is a junk debt collector. I would send a letter to them and a copy to the court as well, requesting verification of debt. Odds are that a)they won't be able to provide it and the suit will be dropped or b)the statute of limitations has expired, which means they can't legally sue you.

Small correction - the wife needs to send the letter if she is the party who was sued.
