    First of all... why?

Such a gorgeous base color you naturally have! Alas, we all want what we can't have I suppose... Your instinct to want a natural color is heading in the right direction... but stear clear of Henna... try a non-ammonia, demi permanent hair color which'll actually ADD shine and LAST LONGER than a 'permanent' haircolor...

A great pick would be Redken SEQ... a formula I would use would be 1 1/2oz 4NB + 1 1/2oz 5N... if the ends of your hair are very dry and porous I would add about 1/2oz of 5G to the bottle to avoid having the end grab dark and muddy...

Dem-permanant color does not last longer than permanent color. Demi-permanent color last 24-26 shampoos due to the small amount of developer added to the DPC. These products do not contain ammonia, so the natural pigment cannot be lifted. Permanent color has very small tint molecules combine with the developer to form large sized molecules in the hair. These molecules enter all the way into the cortex and expand to a size that "cannot be washed out" until it grows out. If the hair that demi-permanent color is applied to is extremely porous from being chemically treated or is a very light blonde, the color may stain the hair and take a lot longer to wash out. Keep in mind that permanent color formulas change the natural hair color. If you want the color to last, opt for permanent color. But, if you don't want to commit to a permanent color, use a semi or demi hair color.

Sweetie, if you attempt to color your own hair, it could result in an unwanted shade. I suggest that you go to the salon and have them do the color. They have a selection of colors at the salon. The hairstylist will help you pick a color that best suits you.
