Processing times for Indefinite Leave to Remain - SET (M)
    Hi there,

I was hoping someone might be able to offer at least a little re-assurance to my undoubted common problem.

My wife applied for her Indefinite Leave to Remain in early June 2009, and we have received the standard acknowledgement letter saying the case has been passed on to a case worker... but importantly, not to contact them about the progress of an application. It has now been 28 weeks since the application was submitted but we have not received anything at all.

Is this normal - our case is a very simple one; both work full time and pay tax, haven't left the country at all since she first arrived in the UK, not as much as a parking ticket between the two of us, very clearly not a sham marriage... I'm a little concerned that things may have got lost, but don't want to antagonise them by making calls, as I have been led to believe that any call is seen as tantamount to harassment in UKBA eyes and will only serve to delay applications further.

Any advice or reassurance would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your time

    Paul

Apparently we're on the same boat here. I applied for my ILR (married to a British) October 2009, did the biometric enrolment on December 3rd 2009, and I still haven't heard anything from them (I had a flight booked on the 17th January 2010, had to delay it obviously), but I did try to call the UKBA and they said it usually takes 4-6 weeks after the biometric. So when was your wife's?
I have a friend here who applied for the ILR (she also got married to a British here in the UK) on September 2009 (she said it was the last week of Sept) and she got her documents back just a few days before Christmas and her ID card about 10 days after that.
