I had the key to happiness.
So, first off I want to say thanks to anyone who does respond.

Now for my story, my ex girlfriend and I dated for a few months, we got really close and I was extremely happy, I never thought I'd like/love a girl so much in such little time, anyway, she decided to start pushing herself away. This was a week or two after I actually felt closer than I've ever been with her. She started talking to ex boyfriend [they went out for 18 months or so], I shouldn't have let her but she said she was still going to be his friend, even though he was an and she hated him. I knew it wasn't good, so I became insecure [I know that was a bad thing to do, but I couldn't stay confident and act like nothing was bothering me] so we would be sitting there and she would text, instead of giving me her attention, she would say we hang out a lot. I know I was clingy, but with her dad leaving her, I thought she wanted someone to be by her side. So about 10 days of her doing this, she decides we should break up. So I go with the we can be friends thing because she still wanted comfort, instead I went off on her that Saturday, because she was already starting to date a guy who she was talking to just as friends, and believe me it pissed me off, I wasn't going to let her walk all over me.

So after a while I just NC'd her, 5 days later she texts me asking if I'm all right, and I say I'm fine etc. Don't really talk to her and she says she is sorry. I accepted just because I didn't think she ever would. We didn't really talk too much, and I didn't really care, but she started texting me, I'd even talk to her about a girl I was talking to, she would give me advice about it, saying it didn't bother her or hurt her feelings. I thought for sure I was over her, but she said she realized why I did what I did, and she is sorry for it, I told her we can be friends, but I'm not sure what she is trying to do now. She said she would be there when I need her.

So I really had strong feelings for her, but I don't think I want to get back with her just yet, but I just need advice on how to approach it, and if she really wants to get back with me what would she really do? I know for sure it would be different round 2, and if anything I just want to hang out with her, see IF I truly want to get back with her or just stay friends. She doesn't really act like a friend, almost as if she doesn't want to be, like she wants to be my girlfriend. I was working on moving on, talking to other girls no problem, but I still like her, and I'm not sure if she has the same feelings as before.

    Thanks for the help.

I advice you to continue moving on and stop taking her calls. You're staring false hope in the eyes and asking it for more. Why? You will meet someone better. Just get over this girl ASAP! No Contact!

Go NC again and stick to it this time.

Why be her possible backup plan? Move on,date and get to know other girls-leave her in the past where she belongs.

Well I don't really want to do NC, because I can be her friend, I won't talk to that much, just a nice hey here and there or how is she. I just think she wants me back, and the fact that she does, I'd give it another go, even though I know it probably won't be like the first time, but she made me beyond happy, and I did the same for her, but after a while we lost interest because we were always together. Last night she said she will be here for me when I need her. I don't know if that's her way of saying she is trying to make it better or her way of acting like a friend?

I know this is probably a lame question, but if there's anyone else out there like me, in times of need it's nice to read some advice. See, I am feeling really distressed right now, I am at work and I have 6 hours left of my shift. I am generally happy... but today I have a lump in my throat...
