I think you just disturbed some stuff that is in the bottom of your water heater. I think as soon as the water settles down it will clear up.

Or if you are on a well it could have something to do with your pressure tank, which should wash out soon.

Do you have a soft water system? If not its probably rust in the piping that has come loose.

Brown water coming out of the hot water faucets tells me you don't flush your heater on a regular schedule. The brown you see is iron oxide( rust)
That has built up in the bottom of your hot water tank. Let me show you how to flush your heater.

For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by FLUSHING NOT DRAINING on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear.. . Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my answer, Tom
