    How to unhook a cast iron heater
    In remodeling a bathroom how can I move a cast iron heater without a big mess?

    Drain water from system. Unhook old heater and remove. If you plan to keep it unhooked you will have to install a bypass between the two connected lines on hot water or a cap if a one line system as in steam. Usually this will do the trick BUT there is always other possibilitys.
