    Tapcon screws cement
I have a receptacle that is about 6 inches from the circuit box in the basement and appears to be on its own circuit. I would like to extend it about 25 feet so I have an outlet on another wall in the basement. I've reviewed the code and understand I need to connect the new receptacle to the LOAD connection of the existing receptacle, and the electric cable needs to be encased in tubing from the ceiling down the outlet.

Does the receptacle have to be a GCFI receptacle since it is connected to another one, or can I use a standard outlet?

If the new receptacle is connected to the load terminals of a gfi it is protected by that gfi. A standard outlet is okay.
