Is it really hard to become a veterinarian?
I am currently a sophomore and I truly want to become a veterinarian but it looks difficult. Im not really smart in math especially geometry, I believe its because I had a bad teacher but now I'm going to retake it because I want to learn it from the beginning.

Becoming a vet entails many years of studying and dedication. Is it hard ? No more difficult then studying for anything else if you really want it.

Hard is a relative term. Becoming a vet requires almost the same schooling as a human doctor.
Proficiency in higher mathematics is not as necessary, but biology, chemistry and those sciences are necessary.
You should speak to your academic counselor who can advise you what courses you should take to prepare.

Hint: Poor geometry performance may be linked directly to poor ability to memorize.

I was never good at geometry and didn't have a problem memorizing or I would not have got as far as I have professionally. Some people are 'bent' that way, some are not. I hate math but tolerate anything I have to do with it. Happily I don't have to use geometry or math as a registered nurse's aid or a PSW. :D

4 years BS + 4 Years Doctor of Veterinary Medicine + 0-1 year for NAVLE / State vet law exams. ---- It takes 8-9 years to become a veterinarian in the U.S. It's really hard to get into a veterinary school in USA, they are only 28 in U.S.A.

Hi, I am new and would love to hear what you have to say. My dog, Jaja, got sick back in April 2006. I happened to have purchased dog insurance in February 2006. Her vet bills came out close to $4000. The insurance would not pay me because they said that it was a preexisting condition. I had...
