    15, pregnant,scared of risks
Hi I'm 15 and I'm pregnant. I have always wanted children and I will be a great mum. However I am absolutely terrified as I've read people who have children around this age have a bigger risk of complications during pregnancy and a greater risk of death because of this. Is that true?

Im so scared about everything. I'm scared my baby will have something wrong with it as I had been smoking and drinking until I found out,. by which stage I was 6weeks pregnant. I'm scared of the birth. The pain. The complications. The responsibility of a life. I don't know how to look after it.

The baby's dad is an idiot and is more into his mates alcohol and drugs than my welfare. What should I do? Is there a way I can make the risks less? Do you think I should even bring a baby into the world if I'm this worried about things going wrong?

    Yours sincerelly

Your parents will bring you for anti natel care and your pregnancy will be monitored.

Pregnancy is a scary time and you will need the support of your family.

I'm going to spare you the motherly chat, since it's too late already.

However, I am going to give you the nurse chat. You have every right to be scared. Pregnancy is a scary time for any woman. Yes, you are in a higher risk category, being a teen, of some serious complications. But, be assured, few women die in childbirth these days. However, with goo prenatal care you can reduce these risks.

Yes, labor hurts, it hurts like he11, but there are pain medications that get rid of that pain too.

Have you talked to your parents about this yet? If not, you need to talk to them tonight. The sooner the better. Get a doctor's appointment ASAP. Take prenatal vitamins. Stop drinking and smoking, you are too young for that anyway.

You need your family support and you need to get visits to your doctor.

Also you need to start if possible parenting classes, since I doubt you have any idea what this is going to be
