What if my ex's employer only garnishes wages for child support every 6 to 8 weeks? The employer is irregular in payments, skipping months and avoiding the child support agency. Is there anything else I can do? My ex does not file taxes, so we can't collect his tax return either. Any suggestions?

What is the employer doing to delay the wage assignment ? Are they taking it directly from his pay and not passing it along or are they not taking it in the first place ?

Is the employee getting weekly wages ? If so, depending on the state ( if in US) the employor can be held personally liable for the payments. Though court, you require them to produce payroll records

Generally if there is a child support garnishment, it was issued by a state agency charged with collecting support. A garnishment order carries the force of law, so an employer that does not follow such an order can be in trouble with the law.

And if your ex doesn't file tax returns, he can be in trouble with the IRS.

So you need to talk to your case worker at the state agency and work with them on getting the payments.
