My daughter has 2 sons. One by a father that never wanted anything to do with him, so she raised him alone by working, another by a "monster in disguise". This man is 15 yrs older than my daughter. He has custody of his other child (which his parents paid for) Every time he and my daughter argue.. he is physical and chokes, shoves or hits her. He drops her off at my house with her oldest son, but won't allow her to take their son. The last time they were into it, he and his mother took the baby and slept with him in a camper in the middle of December!! They had paid a laywer so they said and were waiting it out until the court date. Even though my daughter was afraid of him, she agreed to go back home so she could be with her baby. My oldest grandchild tells me of him busting the bathroom door down to get to my daughter, and of him holding her down on the bed by her neck. This man is very very "charismatic" and has the world (including members of my own family) believing that he is such a wonderful person and my daughter deserves what she is getting. I think I am the only one on her side. She wants to leave, but we do not have the money his family has, nor does he have a criminal record ( but I have friends that have dated him that say he was abusive) What can we do??
