    Septic/new toilet
I'm building a studio behind my house with a half bath. Can I hook it up to the existing septic? How far can it be from the septic? Thanks.

Hey Willie, Yes, you may hook to the existing septic tank as long as the drainage is properly vented and pitched. There is no set distance that you must stay under, the only limit would be the slope of the sewer line to the septic tank. At 1/8" to the foot your sewer line would drop a inch every 8 feet. Your studio would have to be placed to maintain pitch on the sewer line and yet not end up lower then the inlet of the septic tank. More questions? Hey! I'm as close as a click. Cheers, Tom
