    Washing machine drain problems
Have a question. My drain pipe (standpipe?) overflows SOMETIMES when we use the washer. SOMETIMES, the kitchen sink drain bubbles up with the washer's detergent. I've read about installing a compression fitting for the drain pipe, but wouldn't that make the water come up somewhere else (like the kitchen sink or? ). Would it be safer to first snake out the drain then install the compression fitting or install the fitting FIRST to see if this would solve the problem?

Clear the drain line first and you might not need a compression fitting. Good luck, Tom
