Delta single handle hot water adjustment
I have a Delta Single Handle Shower faucet and I can't seem to get enough hot water out of it. As you turn the faucet counterclockwise, it should get hotter. However, it actually starts hot and then gets cooler as the handle is turned CW. Over the years, it has worked OK since about a 1/4 turn was fine. Now if I turn it on more than just a light flow, the tempeture gets cold.

I wonder if the hot and cold pipes weren't reversed originally and it has worked over the years just because we had the hot water turned up pretty high. Now maybe the water temp or calcified lines have restricted the hot flow enough that I can't get the balance right?

I understand there could be a protection setting that limits the hot water but have no idea how to get to it. Would that help?

Without knowing which valve you have, it is a bit hard to give a definite answer. Some of the older single handle "rotate only" valves were set up to come on hot first. What do the markings on the handle or escutcheon plate show? If this is a scald guard unit, the cartridge could be worn out or have gotten dirt inside.

Is this the only faucet in the house that doesn't seem toi get hot enough? If so, then it could be a clogged hot inlet to the mixing valve. Can you tell EPM and me anuthing more like a name or post a picture
