    Are you saying there is no power to the igniter, or that it doesn`t glow/work?

My water heater quite woking. It is a double element unit. The top element is receiving 240V however the bottom unit is only receiving 120V. I understand that the top element feeds the bottom element. If the top element is bad would that cause the problem. I am getting no warm water at all.

220 or 240? I am converting from gas to electric, and am having to have an additional outlet run into the laundry room. Could the water heater run off the dryer plug until I get an electrician to wire another one?
