    Hot water not-so-hot
    Hello Expert!

Over the past few months the hot water lasts less and less time. I turned up the dial on the hot water heater, yet it made no difference.

    Can you advise me?

    Thanks.

Does it start hot, but quickly cool off? If so the plastic inlet tube may have failed. There is a tube in the inlet that runs cold water to the bottom. If it goes, cold water goes in the top, and right back out the outlet. Remove the cold water pipe and stick you finger in and see if you can pull a plastic tube out.

Beware of leaving a hot water tank with the inlet shut off and all the hot water taps closed.
