    Windows XP
    I have Windows XP...

I started my computer today after it working fine and now all my icons are large and internet explorer is larger too (a web page doesn't fit onto the screen)... it almost looks as though my computer is in safe mode but not.

    Help?

Sounds like your video resolution got reset. Right click on a blank area of the desktop and select Properties. Go to the Settings tab and move the slider from the low res (640x480 or whatever) to one you prefer.

Now this might not work if the video adapter was also blown out. In that case you will need to go into the Advanced settings and select the correct video adapter. For that youy need to know what your video adapter is (check the stuff that came with the PC).

One other possibility is to go back to an earlier Restore Point.

Change your resolution to something other than 800 x 600, or perhaps you need to redownload the video card drivers.
