    Does bleach damage hair?
    Okay so I was wondering if bleach damages your hair, I've heard lots of people say yes and no and I was wondering what you think. Please answer :)

    Bleach damages hair. Haircoloring damages hair. Perming hair damages the hair. Shampooing damages hair. Curling irons damage hair. Brushing hair damages it. Almost anything you do to your hair will damage it, at least a little bit.

    The question isn't whether it damages hair, but whether it damages it beyond its ability to stand it. Most people can bleach their hair without causing excessive damage to the hair. If you keep repeatedly bleaching, coloring, or perming it (or any other chemical process), it will eventually damage it beyond its ability to stand it -- and the hair will simply snap (break). The damage is cumulative.
