    Is our White-Rodgers thermostat possessed?
Moved into 5-year-old condo in March 2009. Never gave thermostat a second look until last week when the weather became CHILLY!!

White-Rodgers thermostat, 70 Series.. I tried to pull the front cover off the wall plate but it seems very stuck(!)

Current daily scenario: Turn off heater at night; AM ambient temperature is 58 F, so heater is turned on and programmed to 68 F. Heater starts up and then shuts itself off when the condo has reached 60 F. If the heater is switched off and then turned on again, it starts up again, only to stop at 62 F. Repeat multiple times until ambient temperature is 68ish.

Also, we always keep the set temperature at 68 F (regardless of whether the heater is on or off), and it will spontaneously go down to set at 62 F on its own..

    Thanks for any help...

Many condo owners have this problem. Could be they are all haunted thermostats. Is there a lot of drafts around the thermostat ? Is it an open loft area type condo, because then that would explain the thermostat problems.
