    Jaw pain.TMJ?
3 years ago, I met a man and we engaged in sexual activities. I proceeded to perform oral, and it was particularly violent. In the middle of the act, my jaw locked and won't budge. After a couple days, my jaw was still having problems, and I went to the doctor. He prescribed me a muscle relaxer and said I pulled a muscle in my jaw. To this day, I cannot open my mouth wide enough to comfortably perform oral on my mate. I cannot eat anything besides soup, without experiencing jaw pain. I wake up, and in the morning, my jaw is incredibly sore. I can't believe a pulled muscle can last 3 years. What else could be causing this? Please help. Thanks!

Have you ever had X rays done of your jaw area, MRIs, anything to substantiate the doctor's diagnosis of a pulled muscle ?

No, he just looked around and asked about my symptoms, and where the pain was, and such.

If you have had trouble this long, danalee, then something has to be wrong, and I believe an x ray is in order to get to the bottom of it. In my own opinion, of course and this is not to be considered a diagnosis.

You could also see a physiotherapist. They have been known to do wonders for people with TMJ problems.

You might have knocked it out of joint.
After X-rays, perhaps chiropractic adjustments to your jaw would help. By now your jaw muscles have gotten used to being in that wrong position so it may take few adjustments before your muscles will let go enough for the jaw to stay in place. Check around for a chiropractor that has worked on jaws before--could be tricky.
I have a friend who used chiropractics along with her orthodontist to correct TMJ and an under-bite.
