How do I remove and install a starter for a 1987 Plymouth Sundance.
I have a 1987 Plymouth Sundance and the other day I was at the store and it wouldn't start I figured it was the battery and we put a new one in it, it just makes like a click sound sort of and then nothing else, everyone says it is the starter so I was wondering if anyone could help me by giving me instructions on how to remove and install the starter, or if anyone knows where I could find the information. I don't plan on having the car for more then a couple more months and just want to limp it along till then, and I would prefer if I didn't have to go and buy a haynes repair manual for this one thing.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't overlook trying to clean the starter motor connections:

There's nothing difficult in replacing most starter motors. This procedure will likely work in your situation:

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    2. Disconnect the starter cable from the "B" terminal on the solenoid, then the BLK/WHT wire from the "S" terminal.

    3. Remove the two bolts (14 mm) holding the starter; then, remove the starter. A 3/8-inch drive ratchet wrench or breaker bar, with a 6-inch extension, usually does the trick. Spray both bolts with PB Blaster, Kroil, or Liquid Wrench first.

    4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: When installing the starter cable, ensure the crimped side of the ring terminal is facing out. It's a good idea to clean both terminals and connectors with #240 abrasive cloth, or steel wool, and coat with dielectric grease.
