    Honda 3813 Riding Mower
I have read several other post in regards to this problem, but I wanted to go over mine to make sure I am not missing anything. I put the mower in storage about a year ago it had just has been serviced for not starting. The Mower Shop installed a new battery and said there also was a bad fuse. (location unknown). The mower ran perfect. Currently the mower will kick on the fuel pump and I can feel the solonoid kicking, but it still will not start not even turn over. I tried shorting out the starter to bypass it, and still no luck. I have checked voltages and I am getting 12 volts across the solonoid and then to the starter. I just thought I would ASK before I try anything else. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
There are more than one version of that machine.
The solenoid is usually a shift solenoid, meaning it does double duty in engaging the starter and closing the circuit.
Most have a fuse box with fuses, but some have black rectangle on the left that contains a fuse that looks more like an "S"
    Peace,
    Clarke

Honda Riding Mower [ 2 Answers ]

I have a 1990 Honda 3813 riding mower. It starts fine, but once I engage the blade, the mower proceeds very slowly in 5th gear then dies out (chokes out). When I don't have the blade engaged, it moves fine. It also will not go up a slight incline without choking out. Any suggestions?
