    Noise in pipes
    Hello,

About a year ago, we had a bathroom renovation, including the removal of a standard drop in shower and the installation of a tile shower. Recently, I noticed that when the hot water runs in this shower a loud banging is heard consistently, about one bang every 20-30 seconds. We did use new plumbing to the faucet in the bathtub in the same room, but that has only been used once since the renovation. (The drain ran REALLY slow when the tub was used - Don't know if that is a factor)

In reading other posts, it sounds like it might be due to pipe expansion, but I am not sure, based on the fact that the contractor was not very good and had to replace the ceiling in the room below the shower when he failed to seal beneath the granite ledge inside the shower.

Please let me know what you think this might be. Thanks!
