Where can I get help? Ex stopped alimony and absolute pennyless.
I signed "in solido". Never had been married till I was 38 and never, never knew what in the world in solido meant because I never thought I would be getting a divorce. You cannot imagine what my ex has done to me during and after the divorce much less what he did during the marriage. He told me when I told him I wanted a divorce I'd never get a "damn dime" and here I am!! I have osteoporsis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, renal insufficienty, high BP, high Choles. Trigles. all kind of weird blood work and because of my first attorney when we divorced, the judge never heard a word about me, us, my catching him cheating at 3 in the am in my own home, much less how much my diagnosis have changed in 2 years. I can't pay for my 10$ copay for my meds. (9) of them. I need a precident case really bad... or develop one myself because of all my different situations. He left me with a bill he created for $38K that is now $70K. (Because of interest and late fees). Over 4.2 to 5 years. This "insolido " stuff is not fair and I don't understand how a lawman would ever know what it meant completely. It took 2.5 years to go to trial and then my attorney told me I should settle because I could walk away with nothing. I didn't do anything, he did...

I am very sorry for your troubles. You will have to go down to the County Social Services and apply for Cash Aid, Food Stamps, Insurance, and ask for the numbers for FREE Legal Counsel.

Ask local Churches where you can get free food.

    Call United Way.

Call your local Catholic Charities too.

In the meantime, hopefully you have a place to live or a friend that can help you until you get enough cash to feed yourself and get your meds.

If the ex stopped paying Court ordered alimony you can take him back to court to keep paying the alimony.

You should also look into signing up for SS Disability as soon as possible.

In the end, you can't expect to be able to live on alimony, it is temp payment ( when they ever pay) to help you adjust to living on your own.

You mentioned co/pay, so are you working with insurance or is this some state welfare program.

You can take him back to court to see about your pay and him paying for other costs.

BUT, most courts don't care how is at fault and who was cheating on who, this is normaly looked at for child custody issues more than anything.

The alminony payments are based on income issues only ( at least here)
