    Sewage ejector pump ventilation problem
We have a sewage ejector pump for our bathroom in our daylight basement. It ejects water from our toilet, sink and bathtub. About 6 months ago it began giving off an odor. I tried many things, and called three plumbers. The first two weren't helpful at all. The third one sealed the pit lid, but the odor is still there. Sometimes it is very faint and only I can smell it. If I close the bathroom door for a few hours, it becomes very strong, and then dissipates when I leave the door open for awhile. It inevitably comes back. The pump vents through our roof. Could the vent be clogged? If so, can it be snaked out from the roof, or is there another way to unclog a pump vent, such as at the pump pit lid? Thank you for anything you can tell me about this incredibly hard problem to solve!

First make sure your floor drain, sink and shower (or tub) have traps that hold water. Then, make sure the lid from the sewer ejector is sealed with supplied sealing tape. All cables and pipes penetrating the lid have to have rubber seal supplied by the manufacturer ( no caulk ). Then sneak the vent.

I think my sewage ejector pump may be bad. The fuse for the pump popped and when I re-set the breaker, the ejector pump turns on for several seconds and then the breaker pops again. Does that mean the pump is gone bad or do I have an electrical problem.
