    Collecting judgment
I won judgment against a company for my security deposit. This company has tried 3 times to reopen the case and denied so they changed their name and member to avoid payment. The new member is the person who attended the Court hearings. The old phone number is the rentals department number for the new company now posted on most of the houses that were uner the old company name. The new company was formed 10 days before my payment was due not to mention their attorney sent another motion to reopen to the court after he signed the new article of organization and after being contacted about judgment payment and saying he doesn't collect. I wrote my Atty General and don't know what else I can do. I am in the process of drafing a motion to change name of judgment debtor based on a clerk from the court. Is there anything else I can do??

    Hello L:

Go visit you sheriff or bailiff... They often times, do the collecting for you...

But, if it were me, though, I'd write them a certified letter, return receipt requested, telling them that changing the name of the company or starting a new one simply to avoid payment on the judgment is FRAUD, and if they don't pay within 48 hours, you will contact the FBI.
