How do I deal with payments I am not obligated to make?
I have health insurance, before I see a doctor I make sure I am covered. I saw a few doctors, had some tests, now they keep sending me bills and asking me to pay, my insurance company says they are processing for pre-existing conditions/waiting for responses from someone else I saw earlier. Now, I got a mail that says FINAL NOTICE - COLLECTION ACTIVITY WILL START IN 15 DAYS. What do I do?

Why do you believe you are not obligated to pay? Of course you are, your agreement with the doctors is that you will pay them if the insurance does not pay or in the case of has not paid, you pay the doctors and if the insurance latter pays they pay you back.

And what they will do is turn it into collections and effect your credit.

If this is a pre existing condition it is very possible your insurance will not pay.

So easy question, before you got your health insurance were you previous treated for this problem

You may appeal the insurance company decissions if they don't want to pay. But at the end of the day, you are responsible to pay doctors and hospitals when insurance has not paid.

That is what all of the fine print in their offices say when you sign or get treatment.
