    Retail Math!
have been racking my brain trying to solve a word equation regarding finding out the CRA% when only the NS$ and GS$ are give.

An example of the type of question I'm working on is below:

If the net sales of a department were $16,225 and the gross sales were $18,000, what would be the CRA%?

I have tried Using the formula: CRA%=CRA$/GS$ but that doesn't seem to fit. I do not understand what I am supposed to be doing. I know that if the CRA and GS are know you can find out the NS and that if the NS$ and the CRA% are know that you can find out the GS$.

    Please help!

I don't know what "CRA" stands for, so please clarify what that is.

You say there's formula for calculating CRA$ if you are given GS$ and NS$ - what is that formula? Is it something as simple as CRA$ = GS$-NS$ (this would make sense if CRA = "cost of returns and allowances," or something like that). Then you can apply this formula to determine your CRA$, then use CRA% = CRA$/GS$ to get your answer.
