    8b+4=4(b-7) multiply 4(b-7)

    8b+4=4b-28 subtract 4b to both sides

    4b+4=-28 subtract 4 to both sides

    4b=-24 divide 4 to both side

    b=-6 answer is -6

    By multiply I believe you mean use the distributive property
