    My Scream/Falsetto are Gone!
If anyone out there screams (musically), then could you please give me some help?

I had about a one-hour jam session where I screamed a bunch. I was recovering from a cold that day. Later that night, my voice was low and cracked a bunch. I figured it would be gone by morning. Now, almost a week later... I still have trouble hitting my falsetto and screaming. I need my falsetto to scream.

    So, what should I do?

    Regards,

    John

I'm not saying your situation is permanent, but I can say that vocal cord stress like that may very well take more than a week to heal.

Screaming can , though, permanantly change your voice. I know many Drill Instructors whose voiced have changed permanantly due to screaming.

Give it another week or even two.

I agree with Rick on this one. Vocal cord strain can last a week or two.

Screaming is not good for the vocal cords, it puts too much stress on them and can cause permanent damage, especially if you are young and they are still developing.

After Your Throat Gets Better Before You Start Going Back On Stage And Screaming For Your Entire Set Do A Shot Of Honey! It Relaxes The Vocal Cords. I Know Of A Lot Of Metal Bands That Do This
