Shut off valve for ice maker water line not working.
I want to disconnect my refrig's ice maker. I went to shut off valve for water line and turned it clockwise to stop water flow. The more I turned clock wise, the more water started leaking out of the valve. I went as far as I could and it still had water leaking.

When I truned counter clockwise to reopen the valve, the water leaking stopped. Does this mean I have a bad shut off valve? Do I need to have it replaced?

Tighten the nut around the valve stem of the shut off valve.

Give the valve a turn clockwise to start the leak. (see image) Snug up the nut on the stem until the leak stops. Do not overtighten. Now see if you can shut it off. Let me know how you make out. Good luck, Tom
