Continuance on first day of trial
Tomorrow I start a criminal trial. I feel as though my public defender has giving me false hope with regards to my case, and she has not considered my defense competently. Can I ask for a continuance?

    Hello again, b:

Please keep all your questions on the same thread..

When you get to court, you can ask for anything. Whether you get it or not depends on the mood of the judge.

You may, if you can show cause, need to have some evidence examined by some expert, or some other legal reason, just because you don't feel ready may not be.

In the end, it is not what you did or did not do, it is what the DA can present as evidence to prove you did something
