    Child Support
Hello I am a 17 yrs old who lives in philadelphia, pa. The question that I want to ask is about child support. My daughter is 14 months old and her father left after she was born. He doesn't help me with anything and he doesn't come to see her. I wanted to know can I file for child support at my age or do I have to wait until I am 18 yrs old to do it.

You should be able to receive child support despite being a minor. I'm not sure if you can file on your own behalf or if your parents or welfare has to do it for you. Have you applied for public assistance yet? That'd probably be the most expedient way to get the ball rolling and get a judgment of support against the father.

You should have filed immediately after the child was born. Don't wait another minute. Either go to court Monday morning or find a lawyer first thing in the morning.

Yes you can file in court ( each state will have some of its own rules )
But have you not filed for a order of custody even ?
