    Drinking too much water?
I'm 15 years old and have a healthy diet and BMI.
One thing that is worrying me slightly is how much water I drink... I have been tested for diabetes a couple of times over the last few years because my doctor can't believe how much I drink.
I only drink when I'm eating, but I need a gulp of water after almost every mouthful or it feels like it's stuck in my throat. I used to get headaches a lot and occasional migraines, but since I started drinking more I haven't had any migraines and not as many bad headaches.
Thing is, I figured out that I drink up to 7litres of water each day, because I have up to 2litres with my breakfast and dinner (that's the size of our water jug at home) and my 750mL water bottle with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea at school. I really am thristy for this amount and often for more, but I try not to have too much more than my average (about 6L a day, I'd guess). Is this unhealthy?
(I can't offer any rewards for answers, but you can feel great knowing you helped me out!)

Don't worry, rewards are totally unnecessary here. We're generally just happy if we get a sincere "thank you" :)

I don't know that I've ever heard of anyone consuming too much water throughout the say being unhealthy. Usually it's always not consuming enough and becoming dehydrated. The only thing that really jumped out at me was that you feel the need to because it feels like food is stuck in your throat. Do you feel you would consume as much water if it weren't for that? Are you still able to swallow, breath, etc, normally if you don't take a sip between bites?

Well, there is such a thing as water intoxication. Water intoxication - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and too much water and you drown.

The "feels like food is stuck in my throat" is a problem.

Drinking a lot of water lately [ 2 Answers ]

I've been kind of thirsty lately, but only when I am bored. Like if I'm watching TV or reading a book I might feel thirsty. Mostly at night and when I wake up. I've always been a water drinker and I'm very healthy. I thought maybe this might be diabetes, but I have no other symptoms. I don't...
