I got this notice in the mail and I am a little confused by it. This is what is says:

A disbursement made to you on your case became unfunded during the past month. Unfunded disbursements create a debt that is owed to the county or State and can occur for the following reasons:

* the non-custodial parent (NCP) filed an amended tax return and a portion or all of the tax intercepted was returned to him/her.

* There was a retroactive downward modification of the support order causing an overpayment on your case.

* There was a payment credited to your case that was misidentified, or was returned to us unpaid due to a stop payment, non-sufficient funds, etc.

Your current unfunded disbursement balance is $ 200.00

then it goes on to say the different ways they can collect it.

I have NO problem if there was an error made and they over paid, I don't understand how I could have been over paid if the child support is paid randomly to the CSE. Last month there was one payment in the amount of $100 made on the 21st of Oct.. I thought they might mean Sept. so I checked my records for that month and there was one payment in the amount of $200 made on the 4th of Sept.

I have not been informed of any changes to the order of support in the last 3 years.

The last court order states that he is to pay $200 a month.

I have a call into the CSE and am waiting for a return call, I would just like to have all of my ducks in a row, and make sure I am understanding it correctly.

Of the options listed, a bounced check seems most likely. Best to probably talk to them before really trying to sort out what is what.

You are right. It was NSF that caused it. They are going to take 10% out of my CS until it is paid off.
