I am way too emotionally sensitive.
    Dear friends,
I am a normal girl, who has lots of friends, and in general a happy person to be with. This is what you will judge me from the outside. But on the inside, I am very very sensitive to people. I get hurt very easily, and though I do not show out my emotions, I feel very sad, and I end up crying when I am alone at night. Even a casual joke or a prank about me gets me hurt easilty. I hate myself so much for this attitude. I wish I could be much more stronger, and not take things easily to heart. Please help me! I want to be the person I actually potray myself to be on the outside to the world.

I am super sensitive myself, I take offence to almost everything that is said to me. And to top it off my boss is a really mean person, who hurts my feelings on a daily basis. But I work at a front dest and wouldn't be able to hold my job here if I was always running away crying.
This is what I have taught my self:
When the joke or mean words are being said, think about it, would they say this to other friends? Do they treat my co workers the same? Does he (they) use the same tone of voice with every one?
In most cases I hear my boss talking to every one like this, it doesn't stop the hurt feelings, but I have learned to not take it so personally. You can tell your friends that some times their jokes are hurtful,I know sometimes that option isn't always the best one. But most of the time my friends DO joke around with everyone, and not sure how old you are, but teenagers can be REALLY mean to their friends, especially girls.
The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. It's not ME they're picking on. I have even started to like my bosses mean quirky ways, although some days I would like to hole punch him, I don't. I smile and say "sure thing."
    Well hope this helped!

Oh hon, I'm super sensitive too. I could be on line, reading something that totally has NOTHING to do with me. And burst out crying because it was so sad. Someone could look at me in a funny way, and my first thought would be 'omg what did I do are they mad at me?'

It's not something you can really just 'get over' but you can help improve it. Its part of you. Your personality. Nut learning to control it is important. I'm still working on it. I have to constantly remind myself 'no, they aren't laughing at me, they don't even know me' and stuff like that.

*hugs* it might be worth it to speak to a psychologist. Not a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist diagnoses and gives medication. A psychologist listens, talks, gives advice stuff like that. It might be helpful for you.

    Good luck hon.
